Jonathan assures on adequate security protection

President Goodluck Jonathan has assured that the Federal Government will continue to do everything within its power to ensure adequate security for Nigerians despite the present security situation in the country.
The President stated this while declaring open the second South-South Economic Summit being hosted by Delta State.
President Jonathan who was represented by the Vice President, Arch. Namadi Sambo said that security has become a global challenge but assured of government’s determination to ensure that its citizens were protected.
He said that as part of the development plan of the country, government was giving priority attention to education, pointing out that it is the right of every child in the country to be educated, stressing that much emphasis is on science education.
The President disclosed that part of the efforts to develop the country is the construction of the East West road by the Ministry of the Niger Delta, noting that the construction of a power plant in Bayelsa State is nearing completion.

While assuring on government’s continued supports for all parts of the country, the President reiterated that the vision of the Federal Government for the south south and Nigerians in general is to develop an economy that would be sustainable without oil.
He stressed the need for a revolutionary approach in African development with an increase in production that will foster sustenance economy for the general good of the people.
The President used the opportunity to commend the Delta State Government for its development efforts aimed at transforming the economic fortune of the State.
