Investors interest UBA (+0.66%), TRANSCORP (+3.47%) and FIDELITYBK (+7.78%) was offset by selloff in blue-chip ZENITHBANK (-5.01%) GTCO (-2.59%) and FBNH (-9.88%) putting the market in the red. Consequently, the year-to-date (YTD) return fell to 32.82%, as market capitalisation shed ₦199.80 billion to close at ₦56.17 trillion.
Analysis of today’s market activities showed trade turnover settled higher relative to the previous session, with the value of transactions up by 47.95%. A total of 574.43m shares valued at ₦7.84 billion were exchanged in 7,324 deals. TRANSCORP (+3.47%) led the volume and value chart with 125.70 million units traded in deals worth ₦1.89 billion.
Market breadth closed negative at a 0.70-to-1 ratio with declining issues outnumbering the advancing ones. HONYFLOUR (-9.89%) topped twenty-two (22) others on the laggard’s table while SUNUASSUR (+10.00%) led fifteen (15) others on the leader’s log.
