Equity transactions on the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) re-opened positively on Tuesday as investors cumulatively recorded marginal gains. The All-Share Index grew by 11.47 points to close at 26,023.10 points compared with the opening index of 26,011.63 points. The Market Capitalisation also appreciated by N3 billion to close at N8.285 trillion against N8.282 trillion recorded on Friday. NewGold led the price gainers with N24 to close at N2,722 per unit.
Guinness gained N4 to close at N264, while Guaranty Trust Bank share price rose by N1.83 to close at N20.98. GlaxoSmithkline appreciated by N1.83 to close at 37.80 per share, while International Breweries share price chalked up N1.02 to close at N14 per share. On the other hand, Nestle led the losers’ chart, dipping N7 to close at N573 per share.
Dangote Cement lost N3.97 to close at N119.03 per share, while PZ Cusson dipped by N1.30 to close at N24 per share. Arbico dropped 49k to close at N9.39, while UBN lost 22k to close at N7.29 per share. Overall, investors’ bought 362.16 million shares worth N2.6 billion traded in 4,993 deals against 293.93 million shares valued N2.9 billion traded in 4,447 deals on Friday.
