NACCIMA inaugurates Nigerian-Turkish Business Council in Lagos

by Business News Report

The Nigerian-Turkish Business Council (NTBC) inaugurated its activities in Lagos, in line with an existing Memorandum of Understanding between the two countries. Dr Herbert Ajayi, National President, Nigerian Association of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (NACCIMA), said at the inauguration that the council would engender investment growth between Nigeria and Turkey.

Ajayi said that the joint business council in conjunction with the chambers of commerce and other business related private bodies would stimulate more cooperation and business transactions. According to him, NTBC will also contribute to industrial and technological collaboration between entrepreneurs and economic institutions in Nigeria and Turkey.
‘‘The council shall consist of Nigerian entrepreneurs already doing business with Turkey as well as those interested in having business relations with Turkey. Turkish companies and individuals doing business in Nigeria are also welcome,’’ Ajayi said. Mr Hakan Ozel, President, Turkish-Nigerian Business Council in Turkey, said that NTBC would foster long term business relations between the two countries. The Nigerian-Turkish Business Council is a Nigerian version of an existing business council in Turkey.

‘‘Its inauguration was necessary to enhance the commitment of Turkish government to the sustenance of the existing business relations it shares with Nigeria. The council will serve as a liaison between the government of both countries in matters relating to trade and investment,’’ he said.
