Zenith Bank Plc said it has appointed Dr. Mukhtar Adam as its Chief Financial Officer. CFO. The Bank in a letter signed by the Company Secretary and General Council Mr. Michael Osilama Otu said his appointment has been approved by the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN.
According to the letter, Dr. Adam holds a PhD in Finance from Leads Beckett University UK; M.Sc. Finance- Financial Sector Management) from University of London’s School of Oriental and Africa Studies UK; MBA Finance from the University of Leicester UK and B. Ed Social Science ( Economics and Management) from the University Cape Coast (Ghana).
It also said that Adam holds a Diploma in International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) from the institute of Chartered Accountants of England and Wales (ICAEW). Adams the letter stated is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN); Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria (CITN) and Institute of Chartered Accountants of Ghana (ICAG).
The Zenith letter said that prior to his appointment as the CFO of Zenith, Adam was the Bank’s Deputy CFO, a position he held since September 2014. Before then he was the head Financial Reporting, Tax Management and Strategic Planning of the Group and equally over saw, the entire Zenith Group Financial reporting function. Before going Zenith Bank in 2007, Adams worked in the Financial Services group of the Nigerian Ghanaian Practices of PricewaterhouseCoopers as a senior consultant.
According to Zenith, Adam areas of expertise include Financial reporting and analysis, tax management, audit management, strategy development and execution, enterprise risk management, credit risk management, financial advisory, capacity building and training. He is a researcher with a number of professional and academic publication to his credit.
