Vistajet International, one of the world’s luxury aviation company, has called on the Federal Government to accord it the necessary support to start full operation from Nigeria. The Chairman of the company, Mr Thomas Flohr, made this known in Abuja. Flohr, who is on a three-day tour of Nigeria and other African countries, said his company was interested in operating from Nigeria to other parts of the world using brand new aircrafts. He said the attraction to Nigeria was because the country had the largest business for the aviation business in Africa.
He said that operating from Nigeria would provide the opportunity for the company to contribute to the development of the fast-growing aviation business in the country.
“Vistajet has just placed a largest order in business aviation, 8billion dollar transaction for 142 global express, the world today wants to be connected point to point, and Nigeria certainly the strongest close market with the biggest potentials in Africa.
“Vistajet is already here in more than 3years and we see this as the next essential step to bring 5560million global express 6000 to the country and fly the executives and captains of industry on the best aircrafts which is existing today to anywhere in the world on point to point nonstop to New Yolk, Miami, US etc,
“We had more than 900 take-off out of Nigeria in 2012 alone; that is an average of 3 take-offs per day. We have wonderful partners in Nigeria with very good facilities in both Lagos and Abuja and we use their launches and grounding infrastructure in terms of passengers handling, Nigeria benefits from this by placing brand new aircraft into the country.’’
Flohr said that the company, if supported by the government, would be able to create more business opportunity for the youths as well as business men and captains of industries. Also, the company’s representative to Nigeria, Mr Kola Aluko, a Europe-based business, said the airline had begun flights operation in Nigeria under a cover of other aviation company. He said with encourage by government to begin full flight operations, the aviation business scope would expand to the benefit of both the government and Nigerians through job creation.
