ThistlePraxis Board of Directors said it is has appointed Elizabeth Olofin, as Executive Director, effective February 2020. She is a thinker extraordinaire, as well as a seasoned researcher, and leader. Elizabeth joins ThistlePraxis Consulting with over 10 years experience in Management positions within the corporate and non-profit sectors, creating and executing Strategy, Learning and Development solutions. Prior to joining ThistlePraxis Consulting, Elizabeth’s professional experience spans working as an Independent Monitor with the Growth & Employment (GEM) Project of the Federal Ministry of Industry, Trade & Investment; Part-Time Lecturer, Entrepreneurship at Wavecrest College of Hospitality; Head, Training and subsequently Executive Director of FATE Foundation where she provided professional and enterprise development support for entrepreneurs.
Elizabeth is a member of Rotary Club of Lagos and also volunteers her time in providing employability skills to students and graduates. Elizabeth has also served as a Mentor, Tony Elumelu Foundation Entrepreneurship Programme- 2015 & 2016; Advisory Board Member, Nigeria International Technology Exhibition & Conference and is a Member, Humanistic Management Network, Nigeria.
In line with her interest in Sustainability, she currently serves as a Member, National Steering Committee UNDP Global Environment Facility-Small Grants Programme (2018 – 2021). She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Zoology and a Masters in Educational Management, all from the University of Ibadan, Nigeria and is an Alumna of the Lagos Business School (Senior Management Programme-SMP-33). She was nominated and participated in the US Government sponsored International Visitor Leadership Programme (IVLP) on NGO Management & Youth Programmes in the United States and has a Fellowship in Leadership for Environment and Development (LEAD).
Elizabeth has commenced her training and leadership succession and will take over fully from Ini Abimbola, who will step down as CEO/Lead Consultant, from June 31st, 2020, after ten (10) years in her role as CEO. Ini is moving over to sit as a member of the Board of ThistlePraxis Consulting.
Ini’s leadership has built the organisation into an effective, globally recognised and well-managed entity with integrity and a clear sense of purpose, serving clients and partners whilst delivering tangible impact, and her steady, committed and continued presence on the Board is integral in the next growth phase of ThistlePraxis. Thus, begins a new and compelling chapter for ThistlePraxis Consulting. The hiring of a new Executive Director comes at the perfect time as we celebrate ten (10) years of being one of the leading strategy & advisory services organisations in Nigeria.
