President Goodluck Jonathan has ordered the two other committees set up to look into the country’s petroleum industry to submit their reports on Friday, November 2, 2012. This fact was disclosed in a statement issued by the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Reuben Abati I Abuja.
The first committee was established to design a new corporate governance code for ensuring full transparency, good governance and global best practices in the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC and other oil industry parastatals, chaired by Mr. Dotun Sulaiman. The second committee headed by Dr. Kalu Idika Kalu is charged with the duty of conducting a high level assessment of the nation’s refineries and recommending ways of improving their efficiency and commercial viability. President Jonathan is expected to receive the two reports at the Presidential Villa immediately after the presentation of the report of the Petroleum Revenue Special Task Force.
