Weekly transactions on the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) resumed on positive note on Monday as many blue chips recorded price appreciation. Market capitalisation of listed shares grew by N26 billion or 0.36 per cent to close at N7.084 trillion from N7.058 trillion recorded on Friday.
Similarly, the All-Share Index, which opened at 22,110.91, appreciated by 80.23 points or 0.36 per cent to close at 22,191.14. Nigerian Breweries led the gainers’ chart with N3.30 to close at N109 per share. 7UP trailed with N2 to close at N42.12 per share, while Dangote Flour and Stanbic IBTC grew by 32k each to close at N6.87 and N6.96 per share, respectively. NASCON dipped by 22k to close at N4.82 per share.
On the other hand, NewGold recorded the highest price loss of N27 to close at N2, 482 per unit. Nestle followed with a loss of N3.04 to close at N495 per share, while Roads lost 41k to close at N7.85 per share. Oando depreciated by 32k to close at N14.38, while ETI dropped 20k to close at N10.25 per share. Investors exchanged 136.81 million shares worth N1.7 billion in 2,956 deals on Monday. This was against 161.59 million shares valued at N1.5 billion exchanged in 3,317 deals on Friday.
