The Nigerian Stock Exchange All-Share Index gained 21basis points today. The banking sector closed in positive territory though most top-tier banks recorded slim gains. First Bank struggled with glutting offers during the session however recurring demand at N15.00 prevented a decline as it closed with a 0.1 per cent mark-up, GTBank in the same vein moved up by 1 kobo hovering at N19.90 during the day’s proceeding. UBA recorded a 1.3 per cent mark-up while Zenith Bank was flat. Selling pressure trimmed off 4.7 per cent from Guinness as it tumbled to N251.85, a reserve on the part of buyers could lead to further losses tomorrow. NB and International Breweries however closed on the up-tick picking up 0.2 per cent and 3.1 per cent respectively. In other sectors Cadbury was up a further 0.8 per cent today, while Ashaka Cement also picked up 3.1 per cent.
