Nigeria can generate more revenue from solid minerals–RMAFC boss

by Business News Report

The Chairman, Revenue Mobilisation, Allocation and Fiscal Commission (RMAFC),Mr Elias Mbam, says Nigeria can generate more revenue from solid minerals. Mbam made the statement in Abeokuta at an interactive session with journalists at the end of a two-day advocacy workshop on “Economic Diversification for Sustainable National Development”. He said 34 solid minerals could be considered as alternative sources of generating revenue for government at all levels as against the over dependence on oil revenue.
“We have 34 minerals that are available in this country as at today and we have 150 sites already discovered but the issue is that they are not developed and exploited. We have metallic minerals, industrial minerals, fuel minerals and so many of them at just our doorstep.
