The market’s performance was primarily driven by gains in SEPLAT (+2.24%), GTCO (+0.13%) and ZENITHBANK (+4.66%), putting the market in the green. Consequently, the year-to-date (YTD) return rose to 33.46%, while the market capitalisation gained ₦323.98bn to close at ₦56.45trn.
With regards to market analysis, turnover settled higher relative to the previous session with the value of transactions up by 83.55%. A total of 963.54m shares valued at ₦13.50bn were exchanged in 8,657 deals. FIDELITYBK (+6.52%) led the volume and the value log with 605.26m units traded in deals worth ₦6.03bn.
Market breadth closed positive at a 2.90-to-1 ratio with advancing issues outnumbering declining ones. FLOURMILL (+10.00%) led twenty-eight (28) others on the leader’s table, while ETRANZACT (-9.90%) topped nine (9) others on the laggards log.
