The market’s performance was primarily driven by gains in telco heavy weight MTNN (+1.50%) alongside GTCO (+0.22%) and ZENITHBANK (+5.26%). Consequently, the year-to-date (YTD) return rose to 33.69%, while the market capitalisation gained ₦167.10bn to close at ₦56.61trn.
Analysis of today’s market activities showed trade turnover settled higher relative to the previous session, with the value of transactions up 8.02%. A total of 362.43m shares valued at ₦7.37bn were exchanged in 8,405 deals. GTCO led the volume and value chart with 66.90m units traded in deals worth ₦3.06bn.
Market breadth closed positive at a 1.93-to-1 ratio with advancing issues outnumbering the declining ones. CUTIX (+9.96%) topped twenty-eight (28) others on the leader’s table while CHELLARAM (-9.76%) led fourteen (14) others on the laggard’s log.
