As a result, the ASI’s year-to-date (YTD) return decreased to 27.24%, while the market capitalization lost ₦62.55bn to close at ₦35.51trn.
Analysis of today’s market activities showed trade turnover settled lower relative to the previous session, with the value of transactions down by 49.72%. A total of 259.04m shares valued at ₦4.20bn were exchanged in 5,899 deals. TRANSCORP (+2.83%) led the volume chart with 41.76m units traded while GTCO (-0.79%) led the value chart in deals worth ₦15.57bn.
Market breadth closed negative at 1.20-to-1 ratio with declining issues outnumbering advancing ones. ETERNA (-9.90%) topped seventeen (17) others on the laggard’s table while CORNERST (+9.32%) led fourteen (14) others on the leader’s log.
