Sustained buying interest in telco heavyweight MTNN (+2.08%), tier one bank namely GTCO (+0.64%), and ACCESSCORP (+0.99%) offset losses in FBNH (-1.07%), TRANSCORP (-0.15%) and STERLINGNG (-1.01%). As a result, the year-to-date (YTD) return rose to 40.30%, with the market capitalisation increasing by ₦129.88bn to close at ₦39.35trn.
Analysis of today’s market activities showed trade turnover settled higher relative to the previous session, with the value of transactions up by 52.54%. A total of 319.56m shares valued at ₦5.88bn were exchanged in 6,498 deals. JBERGER (-1.15%) led both the volume chart and the value chart with 42.54m units traded in deals worth ₦1.46bn.
Market breadth closed flat. INFINITY (+9.79%) topped twenty-two (22) others on the leader’s table while GUINEAINS (-10.00%) led twenty-two (22) others on the laggard’s log.
