Having gained in all five trading sessions this week, the ASI closed 0.94% higher w/w.
Over the course of the week, strong performances in BUACEMENT (+6.47% w/w), SEPLAT (+3.94% w/w), and GTCO (+1.56% w/w) drove the market’s positive performance, outweighing losses in ZENITHBANK (-2.79% w/w), STANBIC (-6.73% w/w), and DANGSUGAR (-0.96% w/w). Consequently, the year-to-date (YTD) return rose to 38.25%, while the market capitalisation gained ₦370.80bn w/w to close at ₦38.93trn.
Analysis of today’s market activities showed trade turnover settled lower relative to the previous session, with the value of transactions down by 66.87%. A total of 556.70m shares valued at ₦5.56bn were exchanged in 6,308 deals. JAPAULGOLD (+8.20%) led the volume chart with 164.73m units traded, while UBA (-0.24%) led the value chart in deals worth ₦1.28bn.
