by Business News Report

Nestlé Nigeria Plc says it has partnered with the International Institute for Tropical Agriculture (IITA), cassava farmers and cassava processing industries to improve the quality cassava starch in Nigeria. A statement from the firm on Wednesday in Lagos quoted the Managing Director, Mr Martin Woolnough as saying that the aim was to increase the commercial value of starch.

“The project will focus on increasing the income and food security of the rural poor by technically supporting smallholder farmers in target communities to increase production per unit area and develop efficient markets for cassava,” Woolnough said.
