The Nigerian Communications Commission, NCC has warned prospective investors not to patronise touts who pose as licensing agents to the commission saying it has not appointed any agents for the purpose of issuing a license. The commission in its official twitter handle, advised intending telecoms operators to process their telecommunications service license directly with it (NCC) at its head office in Abuja.
According to the tweet, they can also process licenses at any of the commission’s zonal offices in Lagos, Ibadan, Enugu, Port Harcourt and Kano. it said there are two types of licence granted by the NCC, namely; individual licences and class licences. An individual licence is a type of authorisation in which the terms, conditions and obligations, scope and limitations are specific to the service provided.
On the other hand, a class licence is a type of general authorisation in which the terms and conditions and obligations are common to all licence holders. A class licence only requires registration with the NCC to begin operating. NCC, however, directed those with issues of not having feedback after a while of making their requests to call the commission’s toll-free line, 622, to make inquiries on how to resolve their issues. “You can process your telecommunications service license directly with the commission at its head office in Abuja or any of the zonal offices situated in Lagos, Ibadan, Enugu, Port Harcourt and Kano”, NCC stated. NCC has not appointed any agent for the purpose of issuing a license.”
