Hoisting Russian flag in Nigeria is treasonable felony, arrest such persons—Adeyanju

Some protesters in parts of the country as the nation wide protest enters day five across the country with protesters raising and hoisting Russian flag, one of the organisers, Mr Deji Adeyanju, has reacted and said those raising and hoisting Russian flag in Nigeria soil have committed treasonable felony and should be arrested and prosecuted. He said they are protesting to end bad governance and not calling for military take over, and anybody indulged in that should be dealt with. He said: “Those raising Russian flag are committing treason felony punishable under our laws and calling for military coup. That is not protest but treason. Security agencies should arrest those doing so. While we welcome those who didn’t protest for once under Buhari’s terrible eight years of bad governance, treason is condemnable. ”

He also added that on what ground and guise should citizens should be calling for military coup. “There cannot be such justification because the worst democracy in this world is better than any benevolent dictatorship”, he said.  He also maintained and pointed out no genuine protester would call for military coup, “Anyone calling for a coup is not protesting because that is treasonable felony. “Most Nigerians who are protesting, have you seen any of them and make U-turn and start calling for military coup, what will be the rationale for calling for military coup? Protesters are only carrying Nigerian flag.” However, he said the protesters are not asking for much but to end bad governance; cutting cost of governance, politics to be a part time job, end insecurity, end hunger, and other demands.
