Trading activities on the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) on Wednesday closed on a positive note with some highly capitalised companies recording price gain. The All-Share Index appreciated by 133.24 basis points, representing 0.60 per cent to close at 22,253.71. This was against 22,120.47 recorded on Tuesday. Also, the market capitalisation, which opened with N7.061 trillion appreciated by N43 billion or 0.60 per cent to close at N7.104 trillion.
Guinness led the price gainers’ chart gaining N2 to close at N227 per share. PZ Cusson followed with N1.21 to close at N26.39, while Unilever grew by N1 to close at N32 per share. Zenith Bank gained 70k to close at N14.71, while Oando rose by 23k to close at N14.35 per share. On the other hand, NewGold led the losers’ chart recording loss of N20 to close at N2, 475 per unit. Flour Mill came second with N2.06 to close at N54.74, while Arbico dropped by N1.11 to close at N21.19 per share.
Forte Oil lost 57k to close at N10.84, while Roads dipped by 35k to close at N7.50 per share. At the end of transaction, investors bought 392.81 million shares worth N3.1 billion traded in 3,910 deals. It was against 225.55 million shares worth N1.8 billion exchanged in 3,645 deals recorded on Tuesday.
