ECOWAS set to introduce Eco currency 2015

by Business News Report

The Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) says the introduction of a common currency in the sub-region will boost trade among countries. Speaking to newsmen in Enugu the Deputy Speaker of the ECOWAS Parliament, Mr Micheal Nyaunu, said the introduction would also strengthen ties and development among African countries.
Nyaunu lamented that challenges ranging from single digit inflation, budget deficiency and importation cover were major factors slowing the introduction of the common currency called `ECO’.The deputy speaker said the community was working tirelessly to ensure the introduction of the ECO by 2015.
