The immediate past Minister of Transportation Chibuike Amaechi and a former presidential aspirant on the platform of the All Progressives Congress has stated that some of the delegates who voted at the special convention of the APC are now regretting their decisions. Amaechi, who also is a former governor of Rivers State, further pleaded with clerics to pray for the ordinary Nigerians to enable them elect a president that will solve the problems of country. He spoke in Port Harcourt, weekend, at the 60th birthday celebration of Apostle Eugene Ogu the General Overseer of Abundant Life Evangel Mission.
Amaechi stated that some of the voters at the convention took money and made their decisions, adding that they were at this point regretting their decisions. He called men of God to pray for ordinary Nigerians, adding that they were mainly the problem of the country. Amaechi said: “Those who voted at the APC primaries, who are they. The ordinary Nigerians. The small money they got solved their immediate problems, now they are saying they made a mistake, you are now hearing different stories. “If you are praying for us, pray for the leadership of the country, but also pray for ordinary Nigerians to be able to choose the right president to govern the country.
“Those Bishops you saw may not be Bishops but they are christians. Pray for the ordinary Nigerians. May God make you vote for the right candidate that will change Nigeria.” He said giving money to people will not bring to end Nigeria’s problems, calling on pastors to pray for Nigerians to be able to elect a good president that will ensure the need change in the country. Giving money is not the problem to Nigeria’s problem. The solution to Nigeria’s problem is that all of you must rise. When I was giving contracts and money they said Amaechi is not a good man and I left office now, what am I? A Saint. When you marry two wives you know that the first one is better. People now are saying when Amaechi was here insecurity was not like this. Remember I was always in the bushes chasing those criminals. When you kidnap I will come and look for you. I will call the security heads we go to the bush together and we must recover the man. Now kidnapping is natural. As you are you you expect to be kidnapped. Nobody cares. I think you people needs to pray the more for this country. The prayers you make now is not that God should save Nigeria, buy that God should save the ordinary men because they are the problem.”
