Customs Excise Management Act undergoes review – Dikko

by Business News Report

Alhaji Abdullahi Dikko, the Comptroller-General, Nigerian Customs Service (NCS) said on Monday in Abuja that the service was reviewing the Customs and Excise Management Act (CEMA) to improve its operations.
Dikko said at a National Capacity Building Workshop on the Enforcement of the Customs and Excise Act (CEMA) that the review of the laws was overdue as it had been promulgated in 1958. The Comptroller-General, who was represented by Mr Garba Makarfi, a Deputy Comptroller-General in the service, said that NCS in collaboration with the office of the Attorney-General of the Federation would come up with a draft bill.
