No fewer than 50 public institutions have applied for Self-Assessment Tool, SAT, from the Bureau of Public Service Reform, BPSR, as the current administration has so far implemented 70 per cent of the Bureau’s recommendations. The Acting Director-General of the BPSR, Mr Dasuki Arabi disclosed this in Abuja. He said that institutions are jostling to meet the current state of the agencies through the SAT automated by the Bureau.
The Self-Assessment Tool is a flagship of BPSR governance reform automated by it which can only be accessed through the Bureau’s website. Some of the institutions that have implemented SAT, according to him, include the Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative, NEITI; Nigerian Communications Commission, NCC while he added that the Bureau is currently working on implementing the tool for National Investment Promotion Council (NIPC). The Ag. DG also said that the present administration has implemented about 70 percent of the Bureau’s recommendations.
Arabi said that President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration had so far implemented 70 percent of the Bureau’s recommendations including the Integrated Payroll Personnel Information System. IPPIS; restructuring of the Niger-Delta Development Commission, NDDC; Solid Mineral Development Fund, the Police Service Commission, PSC, among others. He added that the Bureau’s monitoring and evaluation committee ensures that most of the recommendations are not only adopted but implemented. “We make sure that we follow through with our recommendations for which about 70 percent have implemented by this administration”
