Renewed demands in GTCO (+0.11%), FBNH (+4.75%) and UBA (+2.53%) were offset by selloffs in ZENITHBANK (-2.22%), ACCESSCORP (-0.27%) and TRANSCORP (-1.29%) resulting to the market’s weak performance. Consequently, the year-to-date return dipped to 30.76%, while the market capitalization shed ₦32.04bn to close at ₦55.51trn.
Analysis of today’s market activities showed trade turnover settled higher relative to the previous session, with the value of transactions up by 188.89%. A total of 1.84bn shares valued at ₦23.11bn were exchanged in 10,847 deals. FIDELITYBK (+0.95%) led the volume and value charts, with 1.33bn units traded in deals worth ₦14.04bn.
Market breadth closed positive at a 1.04-to-1 ratio with advancing issues outnumbering declining ones. IMG (+10.00%) topped twenty-six (26) others on the leader’s log, while NAHCO (-10.00%) led twenty-five (25) others on the laggard’s table.
